Terms and conditions – wine tasting workshops

Article 1 – Object

Claudia Bastiaensen for the limited company and registered brand Winecdote.

Winecdote proposes wine tastings to individuals. The different formulas are presented on its website at www.winecdote.com.

The content of the session, place, date and time, as well the price, are presented on the website.

The purchase of one or more tastings involves the client’s unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions valid on the day of booking, as they appear on the Winecdote website (www.winecdote.com).

The customer guarantees to have the legal capacity to validly buy products and services offered by Winecdote.

The tastings offered by Winecdote imply the consumption of alcoholic beverages. As a result, tastings are strictly prohibited for minors and strongly advised against for pregnant women. In general, it is up to the client to assess whether the practice of tasting wines is compatible with his health and condition.

The quantities of wine served per person correspond to “tasting glasses” ( 4-6 cl per glass) , and spittoons are available to customers to limit the amount of alcohol consumed during the tasting.

It is also recalled that the abuse of alcohol is dangerous for your health. Winecdote promotes a responsible and moderate consumption of wine.


Article 2 – Registration for wine tasting workshops

Registration for the tasting workshops is done via the website www.winecdote.com, on ticketing websites like Eventbrite, or by phone, within the limit of available seats.

Registration can be done as long as booking possibility on the Winecdote website is open.

Registration is confirmed upon receipt of an e-mail confirmation of Winecdote.

Winecdote reserves the right to cancel the booking if the identity of the client or his e-mail address is incorrect.


Article 3 – Prices and terms of payment

The price of the wine tasting workshop is the price as it is presented on the Winecdote website at the time of booking.

Prices are in pounds, with all taxes included.

Payment of the tasting is due at the online registration, on www.winecdote.com or online ticketing websites like Eventbrite. The price of the tasting must be paid by the customer upon registration. In case of late booking by phone or any other agency, the ticket price may exceptionally be paid in cash on the spot before the start of the tasting workshop.

Payment on the website is done by Stripe payment service. Clients can pay using their bank card.


Article 4 – Change of tasting date and cancellation

4.1 Change of tasting date: In case of a desired change by the client of the tasting date up to one day (24 hours) prior to the tasting scheduled, the customer can choose to attend any other session proposed on the website www.winecdote.com, limited to seats available, without additional charges.

In case of a desired change of date within less than one day (24 hours) before the tasting course, a compensation of 30% of the price of the tasting will be required.

4.2 In case of cancellation of the reservation until 2 days (48 hours) before the scheduled date of the tasting, no fee will be retained and the total amount paid at the time of booking will be refunded

In case of cancellation within less than 2 days (48 hours) before the scheduled date of the tasting, the amount paid at the time of booking is fully due and no refund will be made.

Article 5 - Right of withdrawal

The customer can exercise his right of withdrawal for a period of fourteen days without having to pay penalties except, where applicable, the fee of returning the service / goods. The period runs from the date of receipt of the goods or the acceptance of the offer for services.


Article 6 – Responsibilities

Winecdote reserves the right to cancel a tasting session in case of force majeure and such cancellation does not incur any liability for Winecdote.

The tasting session involves the active participation of the client. The latter agrees to be vigilant and to comply with hygiene and safety instructions given by Winecdote for a successful execution of the tasting.

Winecdote cannot be held responsible for any damage to the person or the property of the customer during or after the tasting.

Winecdote cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of personal items and belongings of the customer.


Article 7 – Intellectual Property

The materials and documents presented by Winecdote during the tasting are the property of Winecdote.

The reproduction, representation and publication of materials and documents owned by Winecdote is strictly prohibited, except in case of written permission from Winecdote.


Article 8 – Privacy and personal data

The information collected during the booking of a tasting is subject to analyses designed to ensure better monitoring of booking. Winecdote ensures that the data is kept confidential. The data is not shared with third parties, except in case of prior authorization of the customer.

The information collected may be used by Winecdote for the later offering of commercial deals and to keep the customer informed of products, services and events offered by Winecdote.

In accordance with the GDPR law, the customer has the right to access and rectify information concerning him, which he can exercise by writing to the following address: Winecdote, Flat 3, 49 Evering Road, N16 7PU, London, United Kingdom.


Article 9 – Disputes

These Terms and Conditions are subject to British law.

Any claim in connection to a wine tasting must be made in writing to Winecdote, Flat 3, 49 Evering Road, N16 7PU, London, United Kingdom or by e-mail (info@winecdote.com).

The data saved on the www.winecdote.com website can be used as proof of communication between the parties, of bookings made by the client, and of transactions between Winecdote and the client.

Any dispute between Winecdote and the client on the terms and conditions of sale or on a wine tasting workshop, will be treated at the courts of London, United Kingdom in case an amicable solution cannot be agreed on.

 

Terms and Conditions – Private Events

 Article 1 - Object

Winecdote offers wine tasting masterclasses tailored to businesses or groups of individuals under the term Private Events.

The content of the Private Event, the place, date, time and the price, are communicated on request, by means of a quotation, after discussion with the client.

The quotation is communicated to the client in writing, by e-mail or letter.

The acceptance of the quotation in writing (including email, letter, purchase order) by the client implies the latter’s unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions, in force at the date of the communication of the quotation, as they appear on the Winecdote website (www.winecdote.com).

The client guarantees to have the legal capacity to validly contract products and services offered by Winecdote.

In particular, the client ensures that the participants of the event all have the legal age for drinking alcohol and that their health allows them to enjoy alcoholic beverages in limited quantities.


Article 2 - Booking of the Event

Upon acceptance of the quotation by the client, the client is required to pay a deposit of 50% of the total price of the quotation. The deposit payment must be made no later than 7 days before the Event. The deposit is due, even in case of cancellation of the event, under the conditions mentioned in Article 5 below.

Booking of the event for the client is final upon receipt of the deposit. The client will receive a written confirmation by Winecdote (e-mail or letter). A late payment may result in the postponement or cancellation of the Event. Winecdote cannot be held responsible for the postponement or cancellation.

In case of postponement of the Event due to the delay of the payment of the deposit, the deposit is still due and the customer can organise the Event at another date, for the same price, in the three months following the initial Event depending on the availability of Winecdote and payment of the deposit.

If the client doesn’t manage to organise the Event during this period, the client loses the right to the Event.

The remaining amount of the quotation should be paid no later than two days (48h) before the start of the event.


Article 3 – Prices and payment methods

Prices are those as communicated on the quotation. A quotation is valid for thirty days upon its reception. After this deadline, and without confirmation from the clients, prices can be adjusted.

Event prices are expressed in British pounds (£) without the relevant taxes included.

The payment of the deposit and the rest of the price of the quotation should be done by bank transfer or credit card payment.

Article 4 – Modification of the number of participants

Upon acceptance of the quotation by the client, any change in the number of participants in the Event is subject to the following conditions:

Any reduction of the number of participants, communicated in writing to Winecdote after booking the event and the payment of the deposit, will not lead to a reduction of the price as accepted by the client on the quotation.

Any increase in the number of participants, communicated in writing to Winecdote, is subject to the agreement of Winecdote based on the capacity of the venue and the required materials and staff for the event. The costs for the additional participants will be calculated as a separate package, based on the quotation specifications.


Article 5 – Cancellation of the Event by the client, after acceptance of the quotation

Upon acceptance of the quotation by the client, any cancellation of the Event is subject to the following conditions:

If the cancellation request is communicated in writing to Winecdote no later than fourteen calendar days before the Event, the total amount of the deposit will be refunded.

If the cancellation request is communicated in writing to Winecdote after this date but no later than five calendar days before the Event, 50% of the amount of the deposit will be acquired as compensation for the late cancellation. The remaining amount will be refunded.

If the request for cancellation is communicated to Winecdote less than five calendar days before the Event, the entire deposit will be kept by Winecdote as damages for late cancellation.


Article 6 – Absence of withdrawal rights

The events provided by Winecdote belong to the category of bespoke services provided on a specific date or during a certain periodicity.

As a result, the client is informed that he does not have the right of withdrawal.

Article 7 – Responsibilities

Winecdote reserves the right to cancel a tasting session in case of force majeure and such cancellation does not incur any liability for Winecdote.

The tasting session involves the active participation of the client. The client agrees personally and on behalf of the participants to be vigilant and to comply with hygiene and safety instructions given by Winecdote for a successful execution of the tasting.

Winecdote cannot be held responsible for any damage to the client or the participants or the property of the client or the participants during or after the tasting.

Winecdote cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of personal items and belongings of the customer or the participants.
